Hi, I am new to this forum and the World of Enicar - my Dad was given a ENICAR SHERPA SEAPEARL as a thank you for leading people to safety in the jungle in the far east back in the late 60's. It has had very little wrist time, apart from special occasions. He is wanting to sell it, he is not well and elderly so has asked me to do the selling for him. I will get some pictures to post but this is all the information I have

ENICAR SHERPA SEAPEARL - Ultrasonic Brent serial number starts with 028. Stainless Steel Inca bloc Swiss. It has the stop watch function, three smaller dials on the face and is in excellent working condition. Can you give me an idea of its worth and is the best place to sell it?

Nice, looks like an early Sherpa Graph MK II with wrong hand set. You can find more about these on enicar101.com

What Nico - JimJupiter - said ;)

From the one photo, here is what I see and this information is based on the work you may find here:

The watch crown side-view, face and sub-dial hands suggests that the watch may be a Sherpa Graph Mark IIa, but not all original. The central hours minutes and seconds hands are from a later watch, a Mark IV perhaps five years newer than the rest of the watch.

To further identify the watch would require photos of the case back, inside case back, movement and view of the watch crown up.

Is your watchmaker familiar with this watch?

If not, he may damage the back of the case trying to get it open. The case closure is a bayonet style case and it only takes a turn of about 30 degrees counter-clockwise (anti-clockwise to Brits) to loosen the case and then turning the watch over the case back should fall loose into one's hands.

The case fits very snug and many people who do not know how it works or who do not have the correct 14-sided tool may scratch up the case trying to get the back off.

When we see more we can say more.

Cheers,

Joe

Here's how the Italians open and close the watch!

Here is a Sherpa Graph Mark IIb for sale:

Currently there are 18 bidders and the watch has not hit USD 3,500 with a couple of hours to go.

Anything can stil lhappen to the price at this point. ;)

The watch looks all original and with the appropriate back and serial number.

The dial is not in good shape
The central hands have lost their luminous material.

The auction may provide some anecdotal sale price reference to be adjusted for condition.

Edit: In the end the price was US $5,369.00 with 23 bidders and 38 bids.
